San Antonio de Areco's highly skilled, self-taught artisans produce
extraordinary work, with absolute devotion to their craft.
It is a real privilege to see these silversmiths and leather workers
in their workshops that showcase their creations. Pieces can be
bought off the shelf. Prices reflect the time taken to make a piece
- anything from a week for a decorative leather belt to two years
for a set of intricately carved silver goblets or a set ceremonial
gaucho reins.
Ponchos, thread and woolen shawls are weaven in the artisans loom
just like Aborigen women did three hundred years ago.
