On 10th November the town dresses up to welcome the visitors and
celebrate the gaucho's festival. In the morning, hundreds of gauchos
ride along the streets glowing off their best costumes and silver
horse gears. Some gauchos proudly pulling along a string of tame
horses remarkably alike in size and colour (their
tropillas). Only seen in Argentina!
Dances and music in the streets and delicious barbecues with red
Malbec at lunch.
Later in the afternoon outstanding horseman craft in the show-field,
horse breaking, lasooing of cattle and horses, the amazing spectacle
of 500 horses running wild to find their crew in five everlasting
minutes and at last never the least, the huge bonfire, dancing flames
to the trumpet tunes, a military band playing at dusk, while hundred
of gauchos ride around to bring back old memories of the Conquest
of the Desert!
Unmissable!
